Photographing women is my passion and sharing their stories is slowly becoming my life’s purpose. In my line of work I come across women who are holding the fort for themselves and their families. Strong pillars of support in their community.

Anyone who knows Kimberly knows how passionate she is about helping teens and parents struggling with the adolescent journey, which at times, bewilders us. She is tenacious and does not fear taking risks; and perhaps, that is an invitation for others to take their personal Leap of Faith. Her burning desire is to equip teens with tools and processes to eliminate their limiting beliefs early when they are developing their sense of identity. She enjoys empowering them with new perspectives, which allows them to acknowledge their unique gifts and creativity. There is an artistic quality to all this with balancing respect, wisdom, choice, boundaries, and awareness.

“I attribute my self-confidence to conquering challenges throughout my life. Much like physical strength training, where muscles are slightly torn to trigger the repair process to build stronger muscles, dealing with hurdles—even failures—leads to resilience in the cognitive realm as well. As a side note, “failure” and “success” are just judgments.”

“My greatest gifts are inspiring others through compassion and respect of my own struggles. I allow myself space, alone time, or time out in nature to ignite my creativity and to acknowledge my intuitive awareness. This combination often inspires me to action and to more joyfully engage in the action steps.”

“Value ‘You’ more than any judgment from another person. Be kind to yourself. Allow yourself time to be in nature, for exercise, and tea. Be confident, be authentic, be courageous, and every morning ask, “What Glorious Adventure will I have Today?” Every evening, reflect upon at least three things for which you feel gratitude, and on those days when this may be difficult, gratitude for the sun shining or a butterfly is okay, too.”

“Don’t feel afraid or weak to request support. Many of us wait too long before requesting guidance. We can avoid unnecessary pain by asking for support, instead of thinking that we can muster through it. Yes, we can get through it, but allowing more ease by seeking support is an act of kindness to ourselves; it also gives others the opportunity to be grateful for being of help to someone else!”

I am not a writer but I read somewhere if you want to get good at something you do it consistently and one day you WILL get good at it!

While I still have doubts about my writing skills, I am passionate about this single cause, I want to celebrate each and every single woman on the planet (yeah I know, huge ask) but then baby steps I say to myself – Baby steps!

Today in the series of celebrating women, I want to shine the spotlight on Rosetta.

People often ask me what do I do, and there is a short answer which is “I am a portrait photographer”  and a long answer. I could go on and on with the long answer but to put in a nutshell “I want the everyday women, the moms, the sisters, the grandmoms and girls to see (to really see) how exceptional, intelligent, strong and beautiful they truly are. And I want the people around them to see that their true beauty lies in their resilience, their character, their integrity and not the shape of their body, the size of clothes they wear or the color of their skin.” And to show that, I chose this profession, I want everyday women to come and experience a celebrity style photo-shoot. With all the other factors taken out of the equation when you see yourself in a picture which looks like it belongs on the covers of a magazine – You Change ! You Shift ! You confidence grows multi-folds and then something amazing happens – The people around you start to shift !

Rosetta is a Rodan + Fields Skin consultant and we created these images not just for her social media but also for her to show to her customers, how truly these products work. I love her dedication to her cause as she has been using these products for years now and and you can see how amazing her skin looks in this un-retouched photo …

“I believe that my strength comes from within. The knowledge of knowing that I can change someone’s life for the better is what keeps me going and makes me confident to share and make connections with people. I think one downfall I have is being able to take compliments better when people give them to me. I feel that many people also have this downfall. When we give someone a complement like “oh I love your dress you’re wearing”. What’s usually the response? ” oh this old dress or “I’ve worn it many times before”. Instead of just saying “thank you or thank you for the compliment”. This is something I know I have to work on.”

Well Rosetta, I would say this is something we all may have to work on because as women, we are taught from childhood to be submissive, humble, self-effacing! Not anymore I say, not anymore… lets change so that we can be confident in our skin, aware of our talents and Proud of them !

“Do not ever feel bad about being a confident strong positive woman. As women we need to embrace our confidence. There is a big difference in being confident and being self-centered.” ~ Rosetta Chow
